Born in Kanagawa on March 13, 1978, Akira Fubuki first became known as a photobook (or shashinshu) model. She made her photo-book debut at the age of 18 in the October 1996 release, Pistil. Fubuki's AV debut was in November 1996 for the Alice Japan label. Her first video for the MAX-A label was the December 1996 release, Dressy.[citation needed] Pink Breath, her second video for this label, was released in January of 1997.
Some of Fubuki's other videos have her acting in roles such as an office lady involved in a sexual relationship with her boss, a teacher, and a school-girl who is raped. In April 1997, she also appeared in a softcore V-Cinema film, Blue Jeans: Fruit of Temptation (Bur&363; Jiinzu Y&363;waku no Kajitsu), released by Japan Home Video.
Her farewell to the entertainment world was with the December, 1997 photobook, So Long! Fubuki retired within a year of her AV debut. Her continued marketability inspired retrospective compilations of her works in 2000 (Akira Fubuki Special) and 2001 (Akira Fubuki DX).
